Brandable domain name sales week 7.

Wow! It’s been one hell of a week for reported domain names sales thanks to power broker and aftermarket platform DomainNameSales sharing a whopping 1,500 previously unreported sales. With 77 brandable domain name sales in the five figure range it is obvious that the market for brandable domain name sales is hot right now. With Zoox.com selling for $70,000, Boyi.com fetching $60,000 and Hooq.com pulling in a sweet $50,000 its once again confirmed that there’s a heavy demand for catchy and brandable 4 letter .coms in today’s market.  A name that sold which I personally like a lot but is not on this week’s list is Amber.com which sold for $180,000. Amber makes for an absolute killer brand name in my opinion but it also happens to be a dictionary word so it won’t qualify for this report based on the criteria I set when I started publishing this report. Some names that are on this week’s list that I like are Travelo, Nona, Varia and GoPlay

As always, I have included a link to any developed sites.

If you know of any recent, verifiable brandable domain name sales please do let me know so I can include it in next week’s report.

  1. For me that these domains should not be included as they are descriptive and well spelled:
    ClearCare.com
    NumeroUno.com
    JustNow.com
    EverSafe.com
    TwoCents.com
    HealthSelect.com
    GoPlay.com
    SimplePay.com
    VitaNova.com
    DeliveryWorld.com
    BrandStreet.com
    VitalScan.com
    Netrunner.com
    TopValue.com
    GiveOne.com
    JuiceKing.com
    LinkHealth.com
    SpaceBase.com
    LoveHub.com
    SmartSleep.com
    PlanetPulse.com
    FashionForce.com
    FreeMix.com
    GridMobile.com
    HelloDr.com
    MarketEngine.com

  2. I completely agree with Francois. “Go Play” is not a brandable. Juice King absolutely is not. The definition of brandable is wide open but to me its a name that means nothing or is not a known word. If you include those types of names you are going to have a long list.

  3. Agreed. Just because a name is spelled correctly doesn’t mean that it isn’t brandable. I don’t like names that are spelled wrong unless they are very sort and clever, which makes them easy to remember.

  4. Hi,
This is very good post and it gives a good idea regarding ;pricing of brandables. At present, my entire portfolio is composed of brandable domains only. But I am looking to diversify.
I also agree that not all brandables should be spelled wrong. Not all brandables are Typos and All Typos are not brandables.
The main criteria is that even if it is a dictionary word, if it does not represent the literal meaning of the word, it is a brandable. Example ” “Apple”

  5. I went to your site, but you only have “words”?

There are no TLDs (?) No .com, .net, .anything – am I buying a logo?

    Seems pretty “fishy” to me…

You should make your offering more descriptive and add the TLD.

  6. I agree some of them aren’t brandable names but then it also depends on the business. If someone is in need of a name and you have it, you get a good price for that.

About four letter domains, I have kept izxz.com, dypb.com and sub9.com for some months now and it is yet to get an offer.

Doron, how would you advise on selling the 4-letter domains which are not brandable?
