Brandable domain name sales week 44: SweetLegs.com, Maill.com, TheMenu.com

It was a fantastic week for brandable domain name sales with six sales in the five-figure range. We would have our first ever seven-figure brandable sale to report if Vivo wasn’t the Spanish word for Alive. The sale of Vivo.com was discovered and reported by George Kirikos on Twitter this weekend. As Elliot Silver reports the domain name was owned by RealNetworks, Inc and is now owned by Vivo Mobile Communication Co., Ltd in China which paid $2.1 million for the domain name.

Leading the chart this week is the sale of SweetLegs.com which was sold by Mike Mann his DomainMarket for a sweet $17,000. Another interesting sale was that of Maill.com for $8,756 at Sedo which shows the trend for double letters continues. Names I like on this list include Lobi.com, TheMenu.com, Kilia.com and Fabior.com

Here’s this weeks list:

Please do keep in mind that these are the highest sales that have been reported at NameBio et al. This list is meant to help give you insights and is nowhere near complete as many sales are kept private and the major marketplaces specializing in brandable domains do not report their sales. Some domain name sales might not have been paid for yet.

If you know of any recent, verifiable brandable domain name sales please do let me know so I can include them in next week’s report.

  1. Yes, Doron the double letter trend seems to be intact. Last month I sold S/h/h/i/e/l/d.com which was my fourth double letter brandable sale on BrandBucket this year. There’s also been at least a dozen sold in the aftermarket over the past few months from $32 to $2300. I’m going to make a list and report on it in my blog next week.
