We only saw a single five-figure brandable sale last week but it was a very notable one, fetching a whopping $75,000. That domain name was NetLife.com and the buyer is Netlife Research AS, a Norway-based company that offers web development, branding and several other digital services. The company has already launched a standalone website on the domain name while their main website remains on the NetlifeResearch.com url for now.
Another noticeable sale was that of BodyMedia.com which was a domain name that previously belonged to a medical and consumer technology company called Body Media. The company developed wearable body monitoring systems and was acquired by Jawbone for an estimated $100 million in 2013. It seems Jawbone neglected to renew the domain name and it was auctioned at GoDaddy after they let it expire.
Here’s this weeks list:
Please do keep in mind that these are the highest sales that have been reported at NameBio et al. This list is meant to help give you insights and is nowhere near complete as many sales are kept private and the major marketplaces specializing in brandable domains do not report their sales. Some domain name sales might not have been paid for yet.
If you know of any recent, verifiable brandable domain name sales please do let me know so I can include them in next week’s report.
