With three reported sales in the five-figure range, it was a decent week for brandable domain name sales. The top grossing sale was for Xango.com which sold for a cool $16,800 at auction at NameJet after it was dropped. Xango used to be a privately held multi-level-marketing company like Herbalife. Xango was acquired earlier this year by Zija International and it seems this company neglected to look after the Xango.com domain name and let it expire. Something you see quite often when companies get acquired. It seems like a risky purchase for a domain name investor because its safe to assume that Zija International owns the registered trademarks for the Xango term.
